Youngs Lodge Website DesignWebsite Design and Content Creation

A web presence is needed for just about every business today. This was recognized by our friends at Youngs Lodge in Callao, MO and so they asked for our help. This website was produced quickly to provide that presence for their brand new operation, but it is easy to update so the content will continue to grow over time. This not only allows them to keep adding information about their services, but it makes the site more interesting for people that come across it a second time, allowing a bond to be built with potential customers.

Website projects require some of The Art Department’s best team work. Websites aren’t just a function of programming or merely of graphic design, its very much a fusion of the two. When we create websites, Jenn develops a concept for the site and then Jeff creates the code. We love to create websites that can easily be updated by the owner of the site, but we can also create content when needed.

Oval shaped full color sign for Bean coffee houseOval Shaped Full Color Sign for Bean Coffee Shop

Want something a bit out of the ordinary? We can do that!
We were happy to help the owners of the new corner drive-through coffee shop, Bean, with their signage. The clean look of the logo is complemented by the unique oval shape. The coloring and finish of the sign match well with the improved look of the building and the overall improvements of the entire corner property. We love helping small businesses look good!

Christmas Window Display BannersBanners for Kids Caboose Window Display

Sometimes your window display needs a little extra. The Art Department can help you with that! Kids Caboose’s Christmas window display needed a backdrop to keep your vision from wandering away from the center of attention. They choose colorful Christmas themed banners from The Art Department to accomplish this.

The Art Department can help with store decoration with banners, banner stands, point of purchase displays, small signs, photo prints, posters, custom cut signs, and many other items. Give us a call, we’d love to help you today!

Nola Leach Window GraphicsWindow Graphics at Nola Leach

Have an important message to get out?

Need to promote a special?

Just want to make a change?

Window graphics can accomplish all of these tasks at a very low cost. The Art Department would love to help you decorate your windows.

Nola Leach wanted to promote a clearance sale and when they found out how inexpensive graphics were decided to promote tuxedo rentals at the same time.

Winter Window GraphicsWindow Graphics at The Art Department

Here at The Art Department, we wanted to change up our windows for the season, so we printed new graphics for our middle window. We love what we can accomplish with back-lit graphics!

Project of the Week 6/7/11

We’re pleased to have helped HomeCare of Mid-Missouri update their brochure. The old brochure had not been updated in quite some time. The information was outdated, and printing has come a long way since it was originally produced.

We worked with the marketing department to revise and refine the information in the new brochure. We designed it to have a pleasing, eye catching color scheme, simple and easy to follow text, easy to read type, and attractive pictures that illustrate the goals of the HomeCare team.
Our family was helped very much by HomeCare during our Granny’s last few years. We’re proud to be able to give a visual representation of the important work they do.

Project of the Week 6/1/11

Summer must be here when we have two projects with similar ice-cream-based themes to show off.

We used full color graphics to lend a whimsical touch to the newly refurbished ice cream truck for J&M Ice Cream. If you’re lucky, he’ll come down your street this summer!

We used full color cut graphics to decorate the ice cream parlor window at Funny Pages Cafe, downtown Moberly, just across the street from our shop. The graphics highlight a special service, and remind people that Funny Pages has a fun atmosphere with all the ice-creamy goodness you can want!

Project of the Week 5/6/11

Our project of the week is an update to the Kids Caboose website. This new site complements the store’s expansion and move, and tells folks just what it needs to…how to find the store, when to go, and what they sell. This is a perfect example of what a simple site can do for a small business. It gets their name on the web with all of their pertinent info in one handy place. Now when someone looks up Kids Caboose on the web, they find exactly what the owner wants them to find. Visit Kids Caboose in downtown Moberly MO for great toys, gifts, and kids clothing.

Project of the Week…4/11/11

We had planned to do a big banner to wrap around the sign at BCM for Valentine’s Day, since it was nicely planted between the Christmas banner and a spring/Easter time banner. However, those plans were shot when the back of the sign spent much of the beginning of the year with a pile of snow packed around it! So, after a tremendously LONG winter, the folks at BCM wanted “bright and happy” to celebrate the world coming back to life. We couldn’t agree more, and produced this cheerful, colorful, custom designed 4′ x 18′ banner for them. Happy Spring!

Project of the Week 3/14/11

We’re happy to have created this update for the Moberly Friends of the Park brochure, which covers the Magic City Line Mini Train, amongst other attractions. Since their last brochure, also produced by us, the mini train has grown and flourished, so it was time to update their advertising to reflect that. Rothwell Park has changed as well, along with some exciting renovations and additions to the Depot Park area and Historical Society museums. It is their hope and ours that this info will expose more people to the beauty that is Rothwell Park, and what amazing things can happen when a group of hard-working volunteers get together.

Project of the week 2/15/11

Our project of the week is actually several little projects with a similar thread. We’ve taken a few older pictures and done high resolution scans and blown them up. We also took newer high resolution digital files and increased them as well. The files were then printed on vinyl and adhered to a rigid substrate for display. They can be framed, mounted directly to a wall, or displayed on an easel or ledge.

Project of the Week 1/3/11

Websites can be complex, with lots of pages, or they can be clean and simple like our project of the week. MCM Risk Management wanted a simple, informative site to help reach potential clients. This site fits their needs, introducing viewers to the idea of risk management and what MCM can do for them. Find out for yourself at MCMRiskMgmt.com

Project of the Week 12/8/10

It’s Christmas time at BCM, and they are celebrating with another big banner at their main branch downtown, this time carrying warm wishes for the season.
We also produced matching paper posters, informing customers of their holiday hours, for use in both branch lobbies and drive through windows.

To wrap up the theme of giving, we made travel mugs and ornaments for their customer appreciation gifts. The reusable travel mugs will keep their customers thinking of them year-round. The large ornaments, which come in a clear reusable box, have the bank logo on one side and “Merry Christmas” on the reverse. Customers will be reminded every year of their favorite, friendly, hometown bank.

Project of the Week 12/3/10

One of our favorite clients, Kids Caboose, has grown, and with it came a new building needing new signs. We resurfaced the existing sign, and added window graphics, including a temporary graphic announcing the move.

The move came just in time for Christmas, which was a great way to tie in a mailing to the existing customer base. The card lets them know of the move, the expanded toy and clothing inventory, and gives them a coupon to bring into the store. The coupon gives incentive to come in, plus a way to track a return on the mailing.
Stop by Kids Caboose today, now at 413 W Reed.

Project of the week 11/12/10

It’s easy to see our project of the week…just take a look around downtown Moberly!
We were pleased to help Main Street Moberly with the task of updating their pole banners. While some of the prior banners lasted an admirable 8 years, they looked it, and needed to be replaced. These new banners are fresh, clean, and representative of the excitement of downtown. There is one design that will remain throughout the year, with three others to be rotated out according to season. The fall banners have come down, and have been replaced with the winter banners, a spring/summer set will be produced early next year. Each set is sponsored by a downtown merchant who would love to see you come on down…to downtown!

Project of the week 11/1/10

Our project of the week features the new home for The Odd Pear Antiques & Collectibles shop in downtown Moberly. The move called for an image upgrade, starting with a new logo (by The SBS Art Dept)
We then made a full color vinyl graphic and put it on a window to hide a support beam behind it, immediately beautifying the facade! To unify the full width of the store front, we used the pears from the logo at the bottom of each window, and followed with pear green translucent vinyl at the tops, that glows as light passes through. Stop by 529 W Reed today to find that special odd item for your home!

Project of the Week 10/25/10

Go Hounds! For the second season, The SBS Art Dept is happy to have supplied the MACC Activity Center with custom printed cups for their concessions. Head out to the next game to root for the home team, and don’t forget to stop for refreshments. These reusable plastic cups have lids, so your soda doesn’t spill on your popcorn and giant pretzel.
Do you need cups for your restaurant, event, or snack stand? We can make custom printed cups in lots of color options, styles, and sizes.

Project of the week 10/1/10

Yet another spirit item for the Westran Hornets, this time it’s temporary tattoos! Each measuring 2″ x 2″ on the backer card, they go on easy, and remove easily (with those instructions from the backer card). These are another great item for clubs to purchase as fundraisers, and a fun way to show your team pride!

Project of the week 9/17/10

It’s football season!! Show your team spirit with novelty eye-black, just like the football players wear! We produced this batch for the Westran Hornets Music Boosters, to be sold as a fund raiser for their program. Shown here on our resident bruiser (that’s his tough guy face), the eye black is self adhesive, very light and flexible, and it doesn’t hurt when you take them off. They come in sets of two, and can be re-used if placed back on the wax card they come on. We have logos available for all the local sports teams, so don’t let the Hornets be the only cool ones in the stands, order yours today!

Project of the week 9/6/10

The Moberly Area Council on the Arts has a great season lined up, and we’re helping them tell the world about it with a new website! The site features a scrolling banner to advertise upcoming shows, a space to highlight news articles about arts events, as well as a calendar to help you plan ahead so you don’t miss a show! All of this in an easy to update format, so their hard-working volunteers can change the info quickly and easily. Check it out at www.MoberlyArts.org

Project of the Week 9/02/10

Typing away and not sure what day it is? Not with these handy keyboard calendars!
We made these neat 16″ x 1.5″ calendars for the United Way to hand out at their season kickoff celebration. They are mounted on thin plastic and laminated, so they are durable enough to withstand a whole year of whatever your desktop can dish out. We produce these in house, so we are able to offer low minimum quantities. Wouldn’t you like to have your company information right in front of your customers?

Project of the Week 8/9/10

Enhance your event with a great flier…just like the folks at the Glasgow Jamboree and Heritage Ways event did! We designed and produced this 8 1/2″ x 11″ four page flier to let event visitors know what is happening and where, along with a map to find it all.

Project of the week 7/29/10

Food is as much about presentation as it is taste. Our friends at Sunset Flame pizza had the taste part down, and a neat set-up to boot, but with a plain white trailer, the “gotta have that pizza” feeling just wasn’t there. SBS Art Department to the rescue!! We took their existing logo and expanded on it. We played with the colors of their wood-fired brick oven’s flames, added on a super tasty all-the-way-around flame graphic, a generous 6 foot wide supreme pizza, and big lettering that lets you know from far away just what they have in that mobile kitchen. Sunset Flame will travel around central Missouri to events and fairs, and to towns without pizza joints of their own. Stop by and say hi, or better yet, say “pizza, please!”

Project of the week 7/9/10

Life is getting sweeter for Moberly, and SBS Art Department helped make the announcement! It was announced today that Mamtek U.S. will be putting a factory here in Moberly, bringing in over 600 jobs, and putting $46 million into the local economy! We’re so proud to have made the backdrop for the announcement today, in the form of a 4′ x 10′ pole pocket banner, and a triangular stage sign.. Go Moberly!!

Project of the week 7/1/10

A Fourth of July tribute to the troops…from BCM Bank on Rollins! BCM chose to cover their big sign with this sentiment, and tasked us to do the job. We customized the layout for them, complete with waving flag and a night sky of fireworks, and printed it on this 4.5′ tall by 18′ wide banner.

Project of the week 6/15/10

Now that the dust has settled from the Railroad Days events, we will share our project of the week…which is actually multiple projects!

The Railroad Days poster, originally designed for one of the first Railroad Days events, has been the graphics theme ever since, shown at the bottom right.  Since the festival has grown, so has the use of this old-timey theme…literally!  It is shown at the top center as a temporary window graphic on the Chamber office, along wit the Sycamore Queen contestants.   To the left, an ad for a state-wide travel magazine, and below, a grand 8′ x 25′ full color printed banner, with 4′ x 8′ sponsor banners to each side, being installed as the main stage backdrop.

We’re so proud to have worked with the Chamber of Commerce once again, to help promote and advertise this fun annual event.

How can we help you promote your next event?

Project of the Week 6/3/10

Our (belated) project of the week is simply delicious!  It’s Finish Line BBQ!

Finish Line needed to get some attention, so we put graphics on their windows featuring their full color logo and easy to read lettering, plus the black and white checkers from a racing finish line to tie the whole thing together.

And what is a restaurant without a menu?  Confusing!

We designed and printed menu fliers and matching business cards to match their graphic theme.

Go see them on Highway JJ in Moberly…and get your Q!

Project of the week 5/27/10

Our project of the week for this Memorial Day week is appropriately for The Windmill Resort at the Mark Twain Lake. This simple site was based on a cleverly hand drawn brochure the client had been using for years. We updated it with some color, added in some pictures of the campsites and features the resort has, but kept with that easy-going feel. A simple site like this gives a small business a presence on the web, making sure they can be found by search engines, and more importantly, by potential customers.
Get “hooked on fun” with some fishing and camping at The Windmill Resort.

Project of the Week 5/14/10

We’re tickled pink to have worked with Moberly Regional Medical Center to promote this Healthy Woman event.
This is the biggest Healthy Woman event of the year, and required multiple products following a design theme. We were able to provide window posters, direct mail post cards, and two styles of tickets with a perforation at the bottom, all with the same design theme. You will also see this layout featured on the home page of the Moberly Chamber website, as the Chamber and Hospital are working together to bring this event to Moberly, and in an upcoming issue of Missouri Life Magazine.

Project of the Week 5/3/2010

Our project of the week for this first week of May shows off our graphic design capabilities, along with a great alternative to the “usual” when it comes to brochure printing.
Riverport Market is a wonderful shop in downtown Glasgow offering all Missouri-made items. Besides offering these unique items individually at their store, they also offer the divine gift baskets highlighted in this over-sized brochure. Printed on matte finish card stock, this brochure follows along with their high design aesthetic. These printed brochures will tease the senses of all who receive them, plus, they are a great thing to leave with potential gift basket buyers for future reference!

Project of the week 4/20/10

What’s the fun in having the neat toys if you don’t get to play with them? Our weekend project was this self-promotional wrap of our trusty old shop truck.
The side panels and hood are all completely covered in our vibrantly printed, full color vehicle wrap vinyl. This special material allows for contouring to the curves of a vehicle, and even a truck has a lot of curves! The vinyl is laminated, so it is protected from the tortures of road grit and sun damage. Yes, it is washable, and yes, it is removable. Partial wraps are available, as well.
This one time investment pays off every time it is seen; whether you’re parked at a job site, parked at a restaurant for lunch, or just driving down the road. Call us today to see how your vehicle can start working for you!

Project of the Week 4/14/10

What to do when you have a beautiful new glass wall, but no one can see it?
Etched vinyl graphics, of course. Have the look of custom-made etched glass, without the extra cost and work. We have used this same vinyl at our shop, at 214 N 4th, at the top of our windows all the way across, and at the bottom on our conference room windows for privacy. This blocks some of the view in from the street, while still allowing in the natural light.
Not only does the Commerce window graphic show off the company logo in style, it keeps customers from walking into the glass! Check it out at the North Morley Commerce Bank in Moberly.

Project of the week 3/24/10

Our project of the week this week is a fun one! Personalized balloons! Art’s Appliance keeps a stash of these on hand, so take the family to Arts today. Bobby will probably even blow it up for you if you buy a couch!
